For last year’s LIBA Brewfest, we collaborated with Louisville hero John Timmons
to create the first batch of beer X-tacy
, a lighter, fruitier beer that we thought represented Louisville’s unique, diverse culture. Fortunately for us, we’re turning this into an annual tradition. Starting on this year’s National Record Store Day (4/22), we’ll be releasing the second beer in this series: beer X-tacy, Volume 2.
beer x-Tacy, Vol. 2 clocks in at 6.5% ABV and 25 IBU. It’s a juicy, dry-hopped saison that uses all Citra hops, and, like the original, we think it speaks well to our original home in the Highlands neighborhood, not to mention the legacy and impact John’s left on Louisville. Just like Vol. 1, John collaborated with us on the recipe, and we’re thrilled to be offering up some exclusive, limited-release beer X-tacy merch for what’s quickly become one of our favorite brews. We’ll have the following ear X-tacy-inspired items on hand:
- Pint glasses
- Stickers (red and green)
- T-shirts (black and coral)
To celebrate National Record Store Day, we’ll also be offering a merchandise special, where you can get all of the above (plus a beer) for just $20. A portion of the proceeds from all beer X-tacy sales will also be donated to the Musician’s Emergency Resource Foundation. We’ll be tapping the beer when we open at 2:00 on Saturday, 4/22, and it’ll also be available at a few places around town. Drake’s in the Summit will be tapping it on Saturday, and Flanagan’s Ale House will be tapping it on Sunday as part of their Thunder Over Louisville hangover party. It’ll also be showing up around town at Game and a few other places, so keep your eyes peeled!
