St. Patrick’s Day Weekend, Irish Hill Red, and 3 Floyds!

Irish Hill Red, which we're debuting this St. Patrick's Day weekend! In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, we’re excited to announce our Irish Hill Red, a malty, refreshingly balanced red ale that’s perfect for kicking back with on a spring day (even if we don’t have spring weather). Named after the historic Irish Hill neighborhood near the Highlands area, the beer’s been a spring staple of ours for a couple years now, and we’re excited to be bringing it back once again. From our brewery’s name to our locations in Douglass Loop and Shelby Park, we pride ourselves on celebrating Louisville’s history and diverse neighborhoods, and this beer is no exception.

Located in between Lexington Road, Baxter Avenue, and I-64, Irish Hill is over 150 years old. Named primarily for the Irish Catholics who resided there when it was founded, it sits on a ridge above the Ohio River floodplain, which gave it a prominent role during the Great Flood of 1937. When downtown citizens fled, many passed through Irish Hill and were fed, cared for, and given shelter by the neighborhood’s residents. To us, the neighborhood is another sign of the camaraderie, kindness, and compassion of Louisvillians past, present, and future, and we couldn’t be excited enough to be naming one of our favorite seasonal beers after it.

Of course, another Louisville favorite is college basketball, and we’d be remiss if we didn’t make sure to have the NCAA tournament on our big screen (and smaller TVs) for your sports-loving needs. So, whomever you cheer for, feel free to swing by, try the new Irish Hill Red, and kick back for a while. We look forward to having you out!
